Now that you have been warned, can't wait to tell you ALL about my clamping weekend.
There are plenty of places in Portugal where you can go glamping, however not all of them are open during Winter. I had no idea, but there are tree houses, yurts and some I don't even know how to describe them and so the choice is so DAMN hard!
In this romantic getaway of glamorous camping we stayed at "O Homem Verde" in Penela in a Western Yurt. Two nights booked and to the adventure we went!
The whole spot is absolutely adorable. The Yurt was super spacious with a double bed, a sofa, a fridge and a wood stove in the inside and a kitchen, a table and sun loungers outside.
After settling in we went to Buracas dos Casmilo. No words do describe it, just look:
On the way back we passed by Castelo de Penela, a small castle with an incredible view and three or four mangers. LOL
On the second day, post breakfast (most important meal of the day yes?!) we went to Castelo de Lousã. Did I mention that Castelo de Penela was small? Well, then this probably was its tiny baby!
We went for long walks, climbed what seemed to me to be the steepest walk path in the world and did the tour of two of the Aldeias de Xisto of the region, Casal Novo and Talasnal.
And the cherry on top of the cake, finishing the day looking at the sunset at Pedra da Ferida's viewpoint.
So much walking around that the need for a shower was as obvious as 1+1 = 2. "O Homem Verde" has two showers one in the house and one outside. We wanted the full experience, shower outside with light only from the stars, warm water and to top it all up a fast-as-you-can run back to the Yurt. By the way, the yurt was so nice and warm, thanks to us the "new fire professionals".
Two days surrounded by Nature, beauty and fresh air without losing any of the comfort. What are you waiting for?
